thinking about why vintage glass is generally pretty low distortion
and it's cause you can't digitally correct lens artifacts in an analogue workflow
while with modern lenses you tend to get that kind of info baked into the lens firmware even, the manufacturers expect it to be done, so the effort is put in elsewhere
