some things i think i should start carrying basically all the time, at least locally: lighter, knife, marker and one of my flashlights
turns then into a case of remembering to actually take them with me, i often intend to have at least a flashlight, but i forgor ^^'

might actually be worth getting a dedicated backpack for this sort of stuff.. would be bad to forget to take them out of my daypack when i, say, go on a flight
and like, in doing that, i could put in some other things.. snackies, drinks, that sorta thing
