@Paradox sometimes in life you just say some seriously fedibrained stuff that must be posted
i think the idea might be to help protect the identities of those involved in a bit of a shorter way than "just told X(nondescript) this"
self-OH (and heck even OH) is pretty fedibrained in and of itself :p

@Paradox yeah, you've got a great point there! also would give me time to see what living on my own would sort of be like in the area, like, not necessarily working, but like, the day to day activities, shopping, chores and such

@Paradox that's... a bigger question than you probably realize
like... i'm loving so much about this, the cities, the people, like and, the more i'm learning about work situations and like, how much better it is
just... sighs
yeah... not excited to go back, if it wasn't quite so difficult to be moving across countries and whatnot, i'd be doing so much sooner
as it stands though, certainly going to start putting in research for immigration when i do get back... like, who knows! maybe i can figure it out someday
and like, if nothing else, i know i'll be able to visit again, so, there's that aspect for me to keep in mind too ^^

ah, but anyway, how've you been today?

@Paradox comfy, it's been a very good trip so far
learned a lot about trains and traveling with them, public transit, and just like, how different it is out here, i guess
it's a lot, but it's nice, especially being around comfy creatures like those hosting myself... not super excited to be going back to colorado, but i guess for another journey to begin, this one must eventually come to an end ​:cirno_shrug:​

so! going to have a long overnight layover in amsterdam on the fifth of january from about 16-09 (but i should be back at the airport probably around 07)

any folks got any recommendations for what to do around then? i suppose i could find some touristy stuff to do, like, what maps recommends or something, but... those who've been there before know best and all ^^

they're relatively infamous for late trains and missed connections, i assume there's something of a cross language pun going on

i did actually miss my last connection on that particular journey (due to their delays), but it wasn't a huge deal, the line i needed onto runs quite frequently ^^
