my last real experience with it was with a friend running into free chatgpt limitations over and over again... kinda sold off the free stuff after that

very much a 'tool for the job' kinda person and like, if there is a nail that this hammer might be able to solve i'll consider giving it a shot in the future
my initial observation was just based on how i (ab)use wolframalpha's capabilities and how it felt compared to prior experiences with the ais, more of a drawing of connections than a jab at anyone, i had worded it poorly, i suppose....

ai thoughts @halva woah woah woaaahh, holdup, was just observing prices compared to openai (8-20usd/mo) and google at the same pricing, which, i gather actually gives a reasonable amount of compute time
i have no clue what the 'free' options can do these days

there's a lot about the current ai ecosystem i know nothing about, after it stopped being a novelty and instead something corporatized i dipped out fast

so like, i'm totally open to finding out, learning about it, but please don't rip my head off, i'm fully aware i'm damned lucky to be as privileged as i am...

ai thoughts it occurs to me that wolframalpha can do like... 2/3rds if not more of what folks do with ai and actually be good at it
all they'd really have to do is learn a bit of a query language (not even that hard)
