got a bit of a potentially insane project idea bouncing in my head today.. shared fedi server hosting, kinda like shared web hosting
i think there already exists a provider that does this, but like, i don't want to do it as a business venture, i'm thinking more in the tilde model of doing things
like, free hosting, bring your own domain or use a subdomain of the main site
the idea behind it being to make it easier for folks to self-administrate, while not making them self-sysadministrate
plenty of problems i can think of with this, biggest that i can see so far being denial of service, intentional or not... one server chokes on disk access or network, they're all choking. legalities being the other obvious pain point, but that's a risk taken on even when just adding someone to a regular server...
i am sorta curious as to what others see as problems, there's probably a lot i'm not quite thinking of.... largely why i'm writing this whole thing out :3
iunno, it's been a while since i've had a big, long term project and i think this could stand to do a lot of good, perhaps give folks that are a bit nervous about self hosting somewhat of a taste of what it's like, or, as mentioned, give a bit of administrative independence to those that don't want to do systems administration
body mods (piercing), picture
the piercer did such a good job on this
really like how the bead just nestles right down into the helix
and though it's a while off yet, i'm super excited for when i can do different jewelry!
