a protonmail alternative so! folks looking for a place to go after the protonmail situation
it may be worth looking into migadu :3
i sent them a support ticket asking about their ai usage and as of now, it's none, for anything

now, their tos has been brought into question by folks on previous recommendations by myself, but, i think it's more of them covering themselves legally than anything malicious

i'm sure there's other good providers out there, just offering more options neocat_floof_cute

the flag for the data folder is supposed to be dataPath not datapath aqua_crying_quietly
thought my file permissions were screwy, but no, i got that right.. i love errors that tell you nothing

sleeping time for me

@ww part of it is wanting to learn a New Thing (much as i grumble about modern susadmining) :3
lxc and systemd-{containerd,nspawn} are very much part of my toolkit when the usecases arise

containers seem especially nice for game servers.. updating has traditionally been a bit of a headache for me as i've got to remember all the little hacks i did to make it work in the first place
like, being able to make the standardized environement that the devs expect, it'll be powerful :3

not to mention, learning this stuff, it'll actually make me want to use software that's only packaged for containers, like wafrn

@ww it even goes beyond game servers tbh, iceshrimp.net, terraria and now vintage story
every time .net gets involved, it's either not working on arm64 or musl

not sure i'll ever be able to fix the arm64 pains, at least through containerization, but at least my amd64 servers’ll run the glibc stuff ok :3

@ww fr tho, like, game server pains for me all seem to be .net problems these days
way back when i started it was java
i'm going to end up learning docker.. the glibc vs musl thing is such a pain for closed source software
