in all seriousness, i wrote this one off really early, there's too many features and i feel i won't be able to bend it to my will quite so easily (note, in my OP, 'i know the *arrs exist')
jackett is plenty for my purposes, might even write a client for it as i rather fancy the idea of querying from the cli

and next time, when you get the urge to recommend something to someone, at least link it, if not write a sentence or two about it
a single word typically doesn't help matters.. i do get it, wanting to be helpful, knowing about a lot about a lot and wanting to share that knowlege
but like, it's still a personal interaction at the end of the day, treat it as you would any other interaction with a stranger..
i don't intend to be a cop, so do as you will, but i do encourage you to think on it a bit, as this has caused me to do for myself ^^

cool! through qbittorrent plugins i found out about jackett which seems like it'll do the trick :3

still might make a shiny cli tool to interface with jackett, its built in search is functional, but could be better (transmission is my client of choice, otherwise i'd use qbittorrent's functions)

implications of piracy

anybody know of a software that'll search from multiple defined torrent trackers at once?
i'm realizing that i've got private trackers that cover the same fields of content and i'd like to prioratize downloading from some over others
but like, i forget to search the ones that might have a thing but are more desireable to download from over those that will have a thing..
i suppose as an added bonus, searching public trackers could be useful too...

i know the *arrs exist, it's that those include file management that i don't care for (also, not sure if they can actually search.. i'll just shove rss feeds in my client if i want that :p)

guess i could make it myself, if noone knows :D

@eri @4censord that's kind of an extremely rude way of putting it, but yeah, that i know of, the software you want doesn't currently exist in a form that handles modern formats and massive libraries
you asked for a solution, to the whole world, i gave the one i know

yes, it does come with a pile of other features that are necessary for an editing workflow
but even then, i put all of my photos in there, not just the ones that need to be edited
it is how i browse and show off to folks locally as, quite honestly, the other ways of doing it don't work for me

i'm sorry i missed details in your requirements, and honestly, if you do plan on making something better, let me know when you do
i'd love to be able to shove my library on a flash drive and have a decent viewer for it :3

it's got that map feature, and the lightroom enables you too sort in all sorts of funny ways

it just also has a half decent photo editor attached :3
