i do admit, i'm kinda curious what the post-mortem is going to have in it and like, why aren't these companies doing more things like netflix's 'chaos monkey'
of note for these two images is that jpeggification ate plenty of the higher frequency detail, if you want to pixel peep, just ask for the original exports or raws <3
went and did some astrophotography tonight! wanted to do some long exposure flash stuff, but it was a bit wimdy and cold, kept blowing around my plush bee... it's ok though! i'm getting good at star photos :3
i want to go somewhere properly dark, without so much traffic, it'd be cool to get like, actual milky way shots i think
@Paradox doing astrophotography "right" is apparently really complicated many settings, lots of consideration and that's before getting into stuff like tracking mounts and exposure stacking
it's a subset of photography that's got a really deep rabbit hole
for that matter, thinking on it, there probably isn't really a modern method of remote communication that doesn't get packetized somewhere along the way ip. is. everywhere.
the idea that modems were like, really long serial cables (in some contexts) is so weird to think about no ip, no packets, just bytes just computers screaming at each other
i kinda yearn for this method of communication, but also understand that it'd be a real pain
and like, it's almost impossible to do these days, with no ip, no packets anywhere in the chain... i'll bet that even with a landline now, it gets turned to voip somewhere in the chain...
