ok but like i've got actual thoughts in here too
like
just cause something's controversial doesn't necessarily mean that one can't be ambivalent about it
and just cause you're ambivalent doesn't mean that you're for or against that thing, like at all, despite what either side might say
but! it doesn't mean that ambivalence can't be harmful or helpful either, after all, sometimes the action that speaks loudest is inaction
it's probably also worth considering that even if one disagrees with your point of view, even on hot button items, it doesn't make them an enemy
while there are some topics that, yeah, are quite that big a deal, i think it's far from the majority
uhhh, i'm admittedly not sure where i was heading with this or how to conclude the thought, but yeah, a thought bumbling in my head lately..
