@ity then, yeah, you're probably already quite familiar with it...unfortunately solutions while it's happening aren't super known to me other than rest
perhaps a hot shower or bath might help.. or really getting the affected spot under heat in general, it can help a bit with muscle and nerve issues
but prevention is the general stuff, stretching, electrolytes and pacing yourself during strenuous activities
really wish i could help more here, pain sucks in any form :/
