@ww ah, yeah, i kinda overlooked those
was sort of thinking from the transgender part of it, which, until relatively recently i had thought assigned gender was a similar sort of deal, almost immutable
or like, only mutable with considerable effort
and like, it's not effortless, but even in a place as currently hostile to it as the states, it certainly feels like it's a lot less than immigration
and nationality, in theory, should be easily mutable

it's all kinda honestly a mess, stupid capitalism :(
and yeah, that's a b r o a d thing to blame it all on, but it kinda feels like a lot of problems in today's world can boil down to it..
