@ww i think it's the residual oils that's the problem for lenses, or at least that's the idea
could cause smearyness or distortion i guess, but it's not something i've ever noticed tbh
glasses it makes less of a difference i'd say, as the information taken with your eyes isn't really saved

now, a speck of dust on my sensor, that's a problem
