@Paradox oh i did too, i just lack the mental fortitude to remember all the measurements... metric is a nice power of ten situation though, nothing to really remember there
generally speaking, i do too, i don't mind it so much when there's no real harm to come of it, yapping about something is nice... it's hard to share a moment of silence over the internet... for reference, when i'm asking about gossip, i tend to be in a tone slightly mocking those that can't get enough of it... all too often forget that intonation in my head isn't transmitted with the text :p
@sand if you ask me, yes! art is an iterative process, it's unlikely you'll ever find/make the perfect piece over in photography land, it's frequently said that the best way to get better is to do it, a lot... i've got a bit over 3k shots since i started this year with a proper camera and i'd say i'm barely scratching the surface of how good my pieces can be
@Paradox well, pints are a bad measurement anyhow.. cups or fractions of a quart would be better. shoot, most imperial measurements make no sense to me, metric is so much easier to understand.... yeah, that is some decent workplace gos, unlikely much will come of it, just juicy enough to spread about, good stuff
@Paradox hmmm, never fun when servers are down, glad it was sorted any hot gos from the 'ol workplace today? or, i suppose, in other words, how's your day been? ^^
@sand okie, i can totally get not having a show tracker just didn't want to start throwing shows at you and have you be like, nah, i've seen all those ^^
@sand yeah, it's kinda wild how a little perspective shift can change your outlook on things our brains certainly are weird.... not like our brains, but these funky balls of electrobiochemical soup in general.. consciousness kinda do be like that though
@sand it's certainly odd, how our brain's reward centers can change, and fast, isn't it? had a similar experience about a year ago now with singleplayer video games, like, i just can't enjoy them anymore and the desire to play them hasn't really come back now, there are exceptions to this, multiplayer, arcade and rhythm are still fun in somewhat limited doses, but those are a very different kind of game compared to the 40 hour AAA game like Horizon or Final Fantasy
you might be able to get the feeling of enjoyment back if you change how you watch it? i've always found it pretty difficult to watch movies alone, but with a friend it's usually not so bad.... trying to force it doesn't usually work so well, enjoyment tends to be at it's finest when it flows naturally in my experience
uhh.. boutta get a bit rambly, introspecting is happening... it's interesting, i used to really enjoy anime watching too, but the excitement sorta went away nearly as quickly as my video game playing enjoyment... as i recall that was a near overnight shift too it's very rare that i can enjoy movies on my own though, it's difficult for me to sit still and passively absorb content in such long blocks, pretty much always has been the case will get the occasional urge to watch one though, usually something specific, lately it's been Spirited Away... even then, i'm not sure the urge is for watching the movie for the movie, it seems to be more of a curiosity of what it'll do with my emotions was actually thinking about a couple scenes in it the other day and damn near burst out crying, so yeah, likely emotions more than anything
uhh, anime though, are you watching the same 'ol stuff or trying new shows? perhaps you could try a genre you're not used to? hmm.. if you've got a mal or anidb, perhaps i could take a look and give some recommendations that are way out of left field :p
wow, i got all distracted and rambly and thinky there, shame i've got work in a couple hours, i really want to dwell on this for a while... thanks for the good thinking/introspection session, even if it might not've been intended ^^
instance stuff@cheese i've noticed that gotosocial instances in split domain setups annoy iceshrimp-js and you'll pretty much always have delayed jobs to the subdomain
it's ultimately ok though, the jobs are also getting delivered to the other half of the split, so they end up arriving and the delayed jobs just eventually time out
it'd be really neat if trance and like, hardstyle, house, stuff like that was played in (semi)public spaces instead of whatever was/is popular
like, going shopping and getting hardstyle without having to bring it myself would be really neat might get old a bit quick though, perhaps cycle through genres over the days/weeks?
